In 'Hood Date Night

Todd and I had an impromptu date night tonight.  Our friends were out of town.  I left work early (on time).  Todd left work early.  It's Friday in the fall in Baltimore.  Fridays in Fells Point mean many things, not the least being happy hour at Ze Mean Bean, the local eastern European restaurant.  I love everything about ZMB - the wood and brick walls, polished tables, dark bottles of wine, low candle and Christmas string lighting.  Happy Hour here is $0.25 pierogies - homemade pockets of heaven, filled with potato, farmer's cheese or saurkraut.  $5 drink specials.  I had a glass of Pinot Noir and Todd had Bison Grass vodka on the rocks, each with a selection of pierogies.  $25 for dinner and drinks for 2.  A pair of musicians playing James Taylor and Van Morrison and The Beatles.  Chatting with the bartender.  Feeling warm and cozy and never wanting to leave.  Getting dressed up (getting out of wet jeans and work boots) and feeling like a lady and loving this city more than I have in awhile.  Feeling more content than I have in awhile.  An almost-chilled October evening.

Perfect.  Slight wine buzz.  Carbon Leaf.  New camera.

Ready for a good weekend after work tomorrow.
